Nauru Police Force Xmas Appeal to the Public

Christmas spirit of excitement has finally kicked in since last weekend and the Nauru Police Force is issuing public warning of the danger that lies ahead during Christmas Eve, where everyone must take extra precaution of their movement from and to attending any function and back, as accidence is always imminently possible during this time of the year.

The Nauru Police Force Superintendent of Operations Mr. Corey Caleb has made an early appeal to the public to consider and maintain the road safety measures which includes avoiding drink and driving and speeding during this season, since many vehicle users will be on the road for shopping and doing other relevant activities to celebrate their Christmas.

He said “The Nauru Police Force appeal to the public to consider and maintain the road safety measures, before exiting the public highway during this season, as there will be lots of traffic around the country”. He further stressed that the most common accidence during this time of the year is from drinking and driving, and speeding on the public highway.

The Police Superintendent Operation said that they will be increasing the number of manpower to control traffic starting tomorrow Friday the 21st of December 2012, until mid-January 2013. In closing the Superintendent Operation said “On behalf of the Nauru Police Force, we wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year”.
