On Tuesday 18th of December 2012, Government Information Office has issued a publication of pending salary payment to those people who are owed by the Public Servant since Nauru’s economic downturn in the earlier millennium. This process has been in place since 2008 and will continue on until the national debts are settled.
Capital credits the government owed to its people started off at around approximately $30 million (AUD) and to date the gap has been narrowed down to around approximately 20 something million (AUD). Thanks to the Republic of China, Taiwan for their continuous commitment in assisting Nauru to settling its national debts.
